- The disc spring shape achieves an optimum friction fit with simultaneous form fit via the helical gearing
It makes sense in many cases – primarily when using short screws and loads which are vertical to the screw axis – to prevent the connection loosening by using lock washers to supplement the pre-tensioning force.
